Silly Homecoming

There was this time where I was engaging with this software featuring a simulation of the physical cosmos. I had forgotten that the last time I was using the software, I had switched to the 'minimum interface' option. I had logged in again, specifically, to look at Earth and admire its beauty.

Well, to my surprise, I wasn't familiar enough with the controls yet. I knew there was movement possible in way of ahead behind in any chosen direction via the PC mouse. But nothing else. And the software had spawned me to a location I didn't recognise in the cosmos.

Regardless, there not being any UI right away, I thought, let me locate Earth. I began, roaming around with a speed greater than that of light. And you won't believe the kind of scare I got after a few seconds. Earth is so impossibly small, our galaxy so indistingulable from every other, that I couldn't believe humans like myself do actually exist in reality.

When I finally managed to turn the UI layout on, and found Earth, it felt like I've found my home I have been looking for for years. The safe space where I can breathe, and talk to others who are too similar to me.

What a homecoming.
