Responsible Action
One great way to become responsible is to be get better at being deliberate. And a great way to become deliberate is to get into the habit of putting it in your calendar. Not necessarily a physical calendar, but the one inside you. And this calendar of yours doesn't belong to you. It belongs to all.
You were travelling and you witnessed an accident. Doesn't matter if a kid fell from a bicycle or a truck overturned. They need your help. Your calendar is changed. For 5mins or 30mins.
You wanted to watch a movie with a friend but they lost the ticket, your calendar has changed. You need to study for upcoming exams but you just couldn't help but watch an episode of your favorite show. You are on a diet but couldn't help eating... whatever it is you eat.
Instead of mulling over what should or didn't go right, it works best to save time as well as energy to make it a part of the journey. Then you can again join back to wherever you were headed, as seamlessly as ever, but now with precious newly earned wisdom.
PS: I got into this post because a physical calendar made me see what I'd been deliberate about. It's worth keeping the receipts.
