Navigation and Tactics
My life framework's 4 vertices has World Game, Geoscope, Synergetics and Kriya Yoga.
If we join Geoscope and World Game, we get... an edge.
Seth Godin mentions two words - Strategy and Tactics. Strategy is the long term orientation, while tactics are more situational.
This is very similar to Bucky's example with ballistics and navigation - "I intuited that the combined sciences of navigation and ballistics might embrace all the variables governing Uni verse-event prognostication." (Critical Path, 1981)
For me, the tactic has been to work on the artifacts which i see need building. Like the Synergetics Isle website. Next is a digital version fo the Geoscope and then I also see a simple yet complete video game on a simulation of making the world successful.
But I need to ponder over the long term strategy as well. the Geoscope artifact I will work on will be of educational importance to me before the tool is built in any real sense. 'Navigation'. Navigating the sea of evolutionary patterns, I must make the right calls as a crew member aboard Spaceship Earth, making sure all systems are operational.
