Nature of god
Scientists did not invent chemistry, they discovered it. Scientists did not invent the human eye, they were born with it. Nature was not waiting for humans to discover things before it started creating.
To say that nature is controlled by something outside of it, is part of our instinct of management. That if Nature Inc. has a CEO, we can choose to be really unhappy with him. "I want to talk to the manager!"
But here's something. 60%-of-fish didn't have microplastics in them before humans showed up.
The fact that humanity can successfully undo 3.8 billion years of evolution in a matter of what would be a few moments, implies that we've been trusted with enormous responsibility. And that if we choose to entertain this possibility, we might end up becoming nature's as yet most miraculous creations in the known universe. But if we don't, we anyway won't exist to judge either nature or ourselves.
