Finitude

Tradition has an affinity for infinity. Infinite food, infinite water, virgins, resources, all of it. More the better.

But nature, seemingly works differently. It says all of it is finite. Yes. But eternally indestructible (law of conservation of energy). Naturally ascribing us the role of managers rather than 'eternal wishers of more'. Take Earth. Earth weighs about the same as it did a million years ago. All that's ever happened is change of form. Dis-location is what we refer to as pollution.

The word Finitude is defined by Oxford as "the state of having limits or bounds". It spells similar to 'attitude'. I therefore think of it as the 'attitude of finiteness'. Instead of seeking out more, it's about being more certain about what we already have. And suddenly, when we put the existing pieces of the puzzles together, the gaps reveal themselves, which again are filled with equally charming finite pieces.

AI is one such piece. Its place though, will only be found when we try and complete the rest of the puzzle we've had.
