Absolute Attachment
People want you to live, for the sake of their own familiarity with you. They have no problem with a random person dying. But they don't want you to die because you are familiar with them.
Similarly, you probably don't want a few specific people to die because they benefit you.
If it's true for death, it's probably true for a lot of other things in life.
Detachment sounds cruel. Maybe we should try attachment again, but with the caveat of choosing everyone instead of a few people. Absolute attachment.
Will you cry for the 130K people dying everyday across the world? Or will you celebrate the birth of 4 humans every second? I guess the choice remains ours, but the pond becomes an ocean.
